| 1 | September 19, 2026 | Highway 91 Highway 91 (HWY-91) play Western Swing Music in the classic
Western Swing musical and vocal style supplemented with jazz influence and
some less traditional instrumentation. Rich Sullivan (Pedal Steel), Tom
Randall (Guitar, electric mandolin and vocals), Liza Constable (guitar and
vocals), Steve Armstrong (Bass), Doug Tanner (Chromatic harmonica, fiddle
and vocals). Exciting, tight harmonic arrangements typical of the Western
Swing style combined with espressive, exciting and surprising improvised
breaks.
| Old Home Day Organizing Group Wendell Old Home Day is an annual event, held on a Saturday in August on the Town Common. This event features the local music, arts, crafts, and food of the town.

| 2 | November 21, 2026 | Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem Harmony, rhythm, indelible songs – these are the hallmarks of Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem, the New England based folk quartet now in its 20th year. From the Newport Folk Festival to California World Music Festival and beyond, this band’s steadfast brew of wit, camaraderie, and musicality leaves audiences everywhere humming and hopeful, spirits renewed.
Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem are Rani Arbo (fiddle, guitar), Andrew Kinsey (bass, banjo, ukulele), Anand Nayak (electric and acoustic guitars) and Scott Kessel (percussion). At the helm, Arbo is
“blessed with an unmistakable voice, both light and sultry, with a hint of tremolo and smoke” (Acoustic Guitar). With Kinsey and Nayak’s vibrant baritones and Kessel’s resonant bass, the band’s signature lockstep harmonies can shake the rafters or hush the room. Arbo’s fiddle is sweet and sinewy, while Nayak’s guitar stretches across genre lines. Kinsey’s old-time bass anchors the deep groove of Kessel’s homemade percussion kit — a truly funky collection of cardboard boxes, tin cans, caulk tubes, packing-tape tambourines, bottle-cap rattles, Mongolian jaw harps, and a vinyl suitcase.

| 4 | January 23, 2027 | Little House Blues Little House Blues plays a mix of standards and originals in the Chicago Blues, Jump and Swing and early Rock ‘n Roll styles, songs of life and love, struggle and joy, with a groove that will move your body. Little House Blues's website | Wendell Full Moon Coffeehouse The Wendell Full Moon Coffeehouse is a non-profit, volunteer run, rural coffeehouse/performance space operated for the benefit of local environmental and service organizations. We support beneficiaries that are non-profit volunteer organizations whose work benefits the quality of life of this region. We present an open mic and featured performer(s) the Saturday nearest the full moon (when Possible) from Sept-May. The Wendell Full Moon coffeehouse offers an opportunity for intergenerational co-mingling, fun for a good cause, Desert-O-Rama, and an affordable community venue with a warm and appreciative audience. | 5 | February 20, 2027 | The Gaslight Tinkers The Gaslight Tinkers' blend of global rhythms creates a joyously danceable sound around a core of traditional New England old time and celtic fiddle music, merging boundless positive energy with melody and song. Since its formation in 2012 the band has lit up the East Coast, the West Coast, and the Caribbean, headlining clubs, dances, and major festivals. Playing what The Valley Advocate describes as “Music that consistently fizzes and pops with unexpected textures and turns,” The Gaslight Tinkers’ shows are packed with delightful surprises, elated crowds, and exuberant musicianship. The sound and energy of I-Shea, Clara, Garrett, Elie, and Peter are universally irresistible. The Gaslight Tinkers's website | Wendell Town Hall In 1819 the Baptists built a church for themselves a half-mile east of the Common (present corner of Morse Village Road and New Salem Road). When the Congregational Meetinghouse was erected in 1846, the Baptists dismantled their church, moved all its parts up to the Common and rebuilt their old church where it stands today as Town Hall. That site was donated by a prominent Wendell Baptist, George B. Richardson, a chair-maker. He gave the site to his church with the proviso that if there should be no preaching at the church for 25 years, the land and the building would revert to him or his estate. This happened somewhere around the turn of the last century, and Selectman Charles Ballou bought it from Richardson's estate. | 7 | April 17, 2027 | The Green Sisters Sprouting from a small farm in rural Massachusetts, the Green Sisters have had a deep love of music from birth. They’ve been playing venues in New England regularly for five years and have garnered quite the following. It’s hard not to smile when treated with their tight harmonies and high energy tunes; their loving but wry sibling banter makes every live show enjoyable.
The four gals get together to play as often as they can. They revel in each other’s company, and jump easily from bluegrass to barbershop to blues to originals of all styles. The Friends of the Wendell Free Library is a membership organization open to anyone who wishes to support and enhance the resources, services, and activities of the Library. You may join the Friends with a modest annual membership fee ($5 for an individual, $10 for a family).
The Friends promote the Library with a variety of fundraising and community-building activities. They publicize Library activities with an “occasional” Library Newsletter and maintain an active email list that keeps members up-to-date on Library events.
Many of the features of our new Library have been made possible with the support of the Friends. These include the beautifully appointed Herrick Meeting Room, including the HD projector, high quality audio sytem and 10’ screen.
We can also thank the Friends for the library skylights, the computers internet access and the WIFI connection. Friends have also generously helped purchase books, magazines and DVDs and have supported many Library programs. Passes to many local museums are also brought to you by the Friends.
