The Wendell Fullmoon Coffeehouse kicks off the new season on Sat. Oct. 4 with the fabulous quartet, Boys of the Landfill! The evening will be a fundraiser for the Wendell Historical Society. Doors open at 7 pm, show starts with an Open Mic at 7:30 pm. at the Wendell Town Hall. Admission is a sliding scale of $7 to $20 (cash only at the door), kids under 12 years old are free! Bring some extra cash to spend at the awesome bake sale table, with all proceeds going to support the Historical Society.

Boys of the Landfill was born out of the early days of Earth Day celebrations, with a focus on raising environmental awareness and celebration through song. They bring eclectic sounds of Americana, from a variety of traditions from New England to the old time south and Louisiana Cajun, as well as occasionally reaching out across the pond to Irish-Scottish roots. Their instrumentation runs the whole acoustic gamut, including guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo, fiddle, button accordion and harmonica! Their shows are always a great time for toe tapping, singing along and getting up to stomp, swing or waltz! Many of their covers are taken from artists from Molly Tuttle to John Prine and Dave Mallett. The quartet features musicians Michael Pattavina from Greenfield, Geoff Rogers and Rob Hayes from Shutesbury, and our very own Al McIntyre from Wendell.

The Wendell Historical Society is working to complete the renovation and restoration of the former Wendell Depot Store and Post Office and open this town’s first history museum. The recent improvements to the building is the result of donations and a 2025 Massachusetts State grant. The WHS is always busy telling the stories of our shared past through social media postings as well as their online museum and public presentations. Their film "The Night Jack Ellis Died," was recently selected for the 2025 Ashfield Film Festival.
