So you want to play the Coffeehouse...
First of all, please read the mission statement. Then come back
here. The Coffeehouse committee (a volunteer group) chooses acts for
following season at a meeting in May. We choose acts from those who
have played at the Coffeehouse open mic, are proposed by members
of the committee, or who have sent promotional materials sometime before
April 1st.
Some things you should know about the Coffeehouse:
- The Coffeehouse takes place in the Wendell Town Hall. This is an
older building. It has a capacity of 95 (seated) / 145 (standing).
Seating is with folding chairs. The chairs can be moved away for
dancing.
- Every show is a benefit. The door is split 60/40, after
expenses (which include hall rental and printing costs for posters),
between the performer and the beneficiary. There is a $6-$12
donation at the door. There are no advanced ticket sales.
- Performers get a $100 minimum guarantee.
- Table space is available for CD and other performer merchanise
sales. Performers are responsible for the vending of their
merchandise. Either the performer can do their own vending during
the breaks and after the show or the performer can bring along
some one to be a vendor/sales person.
- The Coffeehouse is a family friendly, all ages, nonsectarian venue.
- You can send promotional materials (including demo CDs) to The
Wendell Full Moon Coffeehouse C/O Robert Heller, 51 Locke Hill
Road, Wendell MA 01379.
- The stage is small. Large enough to handle a small band (5-6
members with equipment, more people with less equipment). We have
an 8 channel powered mono mixer and a mono monitor amp. There is
one main speaker over the stage.
